Monkey Guardian

Xuan Chi (voiced by Marc Silk) is the Guardian of the Temple of the Monkey.
Physical Appearance[]
Xuan Chi wears a white, blue and cherry mask with an undone shirt and a white undershirt, with a belt and shorts and is barefoot. He's bald and the colour of his clothes changes inbetween episodes. In The Temple of the Shadow Dragon when a power blast from the Emperor Of The Darkest Yin and Double Golden Dragon hit him he turns into a real monkey.
Personality[]
Xuan loves his fruit and often acts as a monkey, especially when he gets emotional. He is sometimes seen by others as rude and stupid, but he has been Ang’s best friend since they met. His role in the series is mostly comedy relief.
Power Band[]
The Monkey Power Band is silver with a lime gemstone on it, bearing The Monkey Symbol. He is the only Temple Guardian that does not wear his Powerband, mainly because Temple Raiders raided his Temple and supposedly took his band when they kidnapped him. He escaped from them and went to the Dragon Dojo for help. Later on, he travels back to his temple to discover his Powerband was always there. The Temple Raiders came back to take it, but they lost it and Xuan has since been on a wild goose chase for his Powerband. at one point he becomes so desperate and even trees to use the Shadow Ape Powerband to try and locate his one, but fails jsut before the dark power consumes him

The Temple Of The Shadow Dragon Part 2[]
During the two part episode "The temple of the shadow dragon" the Emperor Of The Darkest Yin, the Zodiac Master and some backup attempt to destroy the Dragon Temple so that no one will be able to defeat him in the future. When a power blast from the Emperor and the Double Golden dragons hit Xuan Chi the power from these blasts was enough to turn him into a real monkey.

Trivia[]
- The Monkey Band is constantly depicted bearing a lime gemstone due to being placed after The Snake Symbol on The Zodiac Altar. However, in the ACTUAL Chinese Zodiac, Horse follows Snake, while Monkey follows Ram. Therefore, if placed in the proper order, The Horse Band should bear the lime gem while The Monkey band should bear the glaucous gem.
- It is mentioned in the episode "Monkey Mission" that The Monkey Temple is located in Chengdu, China. However, there are no jungles in that city. Additionally, the monkey statues present in the temple seem to depict certain primate species native to countries adjacent to China.
- The scenery and monkeys depicted seem to have been inspired by jungles located in Laos.
